Hello, Neighbors!
The lazy days of summer are here. We've just passed the longest day of the year and hurricane season has started. Be prepared! Make sure you're ready for emergencies with plenty of water, non-perishable food that you can eat without cooking, flashlights and batteries, a battery operated radio, and a first aid kit. Listen to the TV or radio for the latest news on the path of the hurricane and possible evacuation news.
Save the date!
Sunwatch is having a Fourth of July poolside party on the 4th. The party will be at 3:30, leaving plenty of time for viewing the fireworks, and the band will be there.
If you haven't been to a Sunwatch party recently you don't know what you're missing! We have been treated to wonderful, toe-tapping music by the Unclaimed Baggage Band, consisting of our neighbors Jim Furniss, Betty Furniss, and Bud Myers.
By the way, you can hear Unclaimed Baggage on most Saturday afternoons from 4 to 6 at Tommy Duff's up the street.
Changes
Good luck to Jane and Bob Van Roten on their move to Naples. Bob deserves a big thank you from all of us for the many many hours he put in as a hardworking member of our Board.
Pursuant to the bylaws, the Board appointed Ben Givens to fill the vacancy on the board until the next official election. Welcome, Ben!
Finally, Kay Strehle (rhymes with Bailey) is our new Director of Management Services for Rampart Properties, replacing Mike Small. If you need to speak to her, Kay can be reached during business hours at the Ramparts phone number (noted in the column on the right).
Condo Living
Please, do NOT throw objects of any kind off your balcony. Some of the recently seen objects have included cigarette ashes and butts, newspapers, and candy wrappers, and all that junk usually lands on someone's balcony below you!
Guest Suites
Sue Clark will be out of town from July 7 to July 25. If you know you will need to rent a guest suite, please call Sue before or after those dates. If you have a rental emergency, you may contact Sharon Givens (447-5991) to pay your fee and get the keys. However, if you can, please let Sue handle it.
Bridge Group
The bridge group will not meet over the summer, but will resume in late fall. Watch for details in the next newsletter or on the bulletin board.
