Spring, 2001
Hello, Neighbors!
Just in time for spring, two brand new grills have been installed in the pool area. Enjoy!
Many thanks to Joe Giacomini for making the new bookcase in the 670 lobby, to Ron & Sue Craig for donating the materials, and thanks to all of you who have put books on the shelves.
In response to owner requests, the party room is once again unlocked and available for use during daytime, weekday hours. At all other times, it is simple to reserve use of the room by calling Sue Clark, signing the forms, and paying a security deposit.
Top Quality
"Sunwatch is the hottest property on Island Estates right now. Every decision I make as a board member is to maintain or improve the value of the building." Those comments were made by Don Harrill at the February 26 Board Meeting. That is really great news.
But can Don alone keep the building as a top quality property? Of course not. Each owner has to be a responsible owner. Here are some issues that everyone should know and think about:
These are the rules for deliveries and moves to the building:
· Deliveries and moves must be scheduled in advance through Dan.
· All deliveries must be made between 9am-4pm, Monday through Friday only.
· No deliveries or moves on weekends.
· No deliveries or moves through the front lobby.
Be considerate of neighbors who live below you, around you, and above you. Contrary to what you may have been told, the floors, the walls, and the ceilings are NOT soundproof. Sounds really do carry!
It's too bad we have to mention this again: don't throw unbagged garbage down the chute! Especially not kitty litter! Everything must be bagged and tied.
And the last reminder for today: do NOT throw objects off your balcony - they usually land on someone else's balcony below you!
Spring Cleaning
Remember, your outside balcony railings need some maintenance to look their best. Do it now before the summer sun gets too hot. The railings must be cleaned first and wiped down with a dry cloth to remove oxidation. ("Greased Lightning" is a good product to use.) Then, use a protective coating such as ArmorAll or TurtleWax - yes, the same wax you would use on your car. If your paint has chipped, Dan has touch up paint available.
Condolences
We are sorry to report that Dan Jennings in unit 404 has passed away. Our sincere condolences to the Jennings family.
